Module 1 – Introduction to Sustainable Finance
This module will explain the historical development of sustainability since the emergence of the concept of CSR. During the module, participants will discover the role of global warming as a driver for climate change and learn how climate risks might affect business.
The module will also highlight the financial investment needed to tackle these factors and the role of private capital in bridging the current investment gap. Finally, participants will be introduced to several terms in the field of sustainability including ESG, SDG and transition, and to the main sector’s market players.
Module 2 – The wider world of Sustainable Finance
This module will introduce the different developments being seen in the world of Sustainable Finance along with the relationship between ESG performance and financial return. During this module, participants will also be introduced to the concept of environmental systemic risk and gain a deeper understanding of current approaches being used in an attempt to integrate these risks into financial decision-making.
Module 3 – Legislative Development on EU level and the Future of Sustainable Finance
This module will detail the latest legislative developments taking place at an EU level including the EU 2050 targets, the EU Action Plan for Sustainable Finance and its taxonomy. Participants will learn about where the Sustainable Finance ecosystem is heading in the months and years to come, and identify where the opportunities and challenges will lie.
